Description

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology or similar relevant subject or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Current CSCS card or be prepared to immediately obtain.
  • Member of an appropriate professional body and willingness to obtain chartered status
  • Experience in producing factual reports with recommendations.
  • Experience in industry with demonstrable experience working in geotechnics.
  • Able to follow defined guidance thoroughly to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work to own initiative, as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Flexible in approach to delivering work to meet Clients needs.
  • On occasion may be required to work away, including overnight stays and unsociable hours.
  • Full UK Driving Licence to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
  • Planning, conducting and supervising geo-environmental investigations on site, typically on a bespoke basis.
  • Reviewing anticipated site conditions as required to support the site investigations and development of ground models.
  • Conducting soil and rock logging and sampling both in the field and the laboratory.
  • Entering data into geotechnical software to produce geotechnical logs and other associated outputs.
  • Preparing laboratory test schedules.
  • Analysing site and laboratory data and preparing factual and interpretative reports.
  • Supporting the Senior Engineers in developing proposals and determining costs and schedules for site investigations.
  • Consulting with Clients and other laboratory team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and within identified budgets.
  • Preparing documentation as needed to support the investigations and reporting.
  • Ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with latest Health and Safety regulations and legislation.
