The Opportunity
We’re excited to be growing our Tunnelling Team and are currently seeking a talented Tunnel Engineer with positions opened at different levels, from senior engineer to senior associate, to become a key part of our Australian operations.
In this role, you’ll bring your expertise in tunnel design—gained through experience with either contractors or consultancies—across both tender and detailed design phases. You’ve contributed to a variety of projects across sectors and have confidently represented your organisation in client-facing discussions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of geotechnical and tunnel design packages executed by the design team (Based in Madrid).
  • Define clear scopes, deliverables, and deadlines for designers in alignment with project requirements and programme.
  • Act as the primary liaison between local project teams, designers and client to ensure design intent, standards, and expectations are understood and met.
  • Review and provide technical oversight of deliverables, ensuring compliance with Australian codes and project-specific requirements.
  • Manage design workflows, version control, and communication protocols to ensure efficiency and clarity across time zones.
  • Facilitate regular coordination meetings and design reviews with offshore teams to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain design quality.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (postgraduate qualifications preferred)
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institution.
  • 8 years of experience in tunnelling.
  • Demonstrated experience in underground infrastructure, ideally across both design and construction phases
  • Strong command of relevant design codes (e.g., Eurocodes, AS standards) and digital tools for analysis and modelling.
  • A proactive mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with trenchless technologies, NATM, or TBM-driven tunnels
