Our work spans multiple industries, including open-pit mining environments and municipal infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, field-based laboratory role working on-site in a client-operated laboratory. Location & Work Environment: * Opportunities are locally based in Fort McMurray * Work is primarily performed in a client laboratory environment, with some exposure to active project sites Job Responsibilities We are currently seeking individuals to perform geotechnical and materials laboratory testing. Key responsibilities include: * Conducting geotechnical laboratory testing on soils and aggregates, including proctors, sieve analysis, hydrometer testing, specific gravity, and Atterberg limits * Performing compressive strength testing on concrete materials in accordance with applicable ASTM and CSA standards * Entering laboratory sample information and generating worksheets using the LIMS system * Inputting third-party laboratory results as required * Submitting soil and concrete test results to the Quality Assurance Specialist * Calibrating laboratory equipment (Proctor machines, sieves, ovens, scales, and molds) and completing preventative maintenance as required * Working in a fast-paced environment while carrying out assignments with minimal supervision Physical requirements include prolonged standing, repetitive movements, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Compensation $31.00 – $33.00 per hour, depending on experience. What We Look For We are seeking individuals with: * A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Sciences, Geotechnical Sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and laboratory experience * Legal authorization to work in Canada * A valid driver’s license * Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel * Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills * A willingness to learn and grow within a laboratory environment * A strong commitment to workplace health and safety Additional Assets * Valid CCIL/CSA concrete testing certification * Knowledge of SpectraQest * Previous experience in a laboratory or technical testing environment Working Conditions & Requirements * Ability to successfully complete a Fit for Work assessment * Ability to meet drug and alcohol testing requirements * Comfortable working in safety-sensitive environments Connect With Us! Responsibilities
