Your Impact

  • Performing geotechnical analyses and design of foundations, embankments/cuts, tunnels, and earth retaining systems for transportation/water/energy projects.
  • Earthquake engineering (evaluation of liquefaction potential, seismic hazard analysis, ground response analysis, and soil-structure interaction).
  • Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports.
  • Providing geotechnical support during construction.
  • Conducting field inspection of geotechnical construction.
  • Conducting geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing programs.

Who You Are

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Solid training in soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
  • Educational background and interest in geotechnical earthquake engineering.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Candidates with 0 to 5 years of experience will be considered.
  • Master’s Degree/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related discipline heavily preferred.
  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
  • Experience using commercially available geotechnical software (i.e. Ensoft, Bentley, Rocscience, Itasca, GeoMotions)
  • Ability and willingness to travel for field work.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation and GIS systems
