THE OPPORTUNITY

In response to growth in the global ground energy sector we are expanding our geothermal and ground energy service across the UK and globally. As a result, we are seeking to grow our core UK team with a role based in Manchester. The ideal candidate will have a focus on geothermal and ground energy business growth and have strong geothermal, geological and hydrogeological technical skills to support the team in project delivery.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and regulatory

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Geothermal Specialist, specialising in geothermal energy development to join our growing team in the North. Your role will be to lead the growth of our geothermal service across a range of sectors. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of high-profile clients across a range of sectors.
Whilst based in Manchester, this role also involves integrated working with geothermal specialists and other disciplines in other Arup offices, both within the UK and globally. When advising global clients, you will be enabled to draw on Arup’s local expertise, tailored to a client’s needs.
You will be Bid Manager and Project Manager on projects across sectors and regions, supported by a technical team. You will be responsible for understanding a client’s needs, bringing together the right skills from across Arup, and ensuring projects deliver valuable outcomes for the client.
The role is client-focussed, and you may be expected to manage relationships with a number of different clients. Through both internal and external networks, you will be responsible for building a pipeline of work to support the growth of the team and service offering. You will be responsible for driving continual improvement in the geothermal service offering, including overseeing skills development, supported by Arup’s Skills Networks and Arup University.
This role sits within the Ground Engineering Team in Manchester in Arup’s North geography and you will be directly involved in the leadership of this team, including mentoring, resource management and business planning.

Have excellent communication and social skills, as you will be a key technical ambassador for Arup, working closely with our clients as well as the wider industry. You will be well networked within your discipline and sectors.
