Staff Specialist – General Physician / Geriatrician (Darwin Region, NT):

About the Role
This hybrid position offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to both acute general medicine and geriatric care. You’ll be working across two well-respected facilities, including a major tertiary hospital and a regional center that champions innovation in aged care.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex inpatient cases, with a strong focus on discharge planning and continuity of care. This role is ideally suited to a dual-qualified FRACP specialist with a passion for culturally responsive care and leadership in challenging clinical settings.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Specialist registration with AHPRA
• Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in:
• General and Acute Care Medicine AND
• Geriatric Medicine
• Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and cultural competency skills

• Consultant-level care for inpatients in a General Medical Unit
• Geriatric service across:
• Acute Care of the Elderly ward
• Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM) ward
• Interim Care Unit
• Active involvement in junior doctor supervision and team leadership
• Champion safe, timely discharge and community engagement strategies
• Work collaboratively within a multicultural team environment
