Description

COME WORK AS A GERIATRICIAN WITH VANCOUVER COASTAL HEALTH (VCH)!

The Richmond Community of Care, part of Vancouver Coastal Health, is recruiting a 1.0 Full Time Geriatric Medicine Specialist to join a well-established, integrated, inter-professional Geriatrics program providing care across the health care continuum. The successful applicant will be able to participate in creating a position with a balance of both inpatient consultative service, and outpatient clinical duties. The position will not require participation in an on-call rota and will begin at a provisional staff category. Membership and advancement within the UBC Division of Geriatric Medicine is available to qualified candidates.
The outpatient portion of this position will be anchored at the Richmond Community Health Access Centre, a brand new, purpose-built facility for outpatient, older adult health that opened in March 2020. The Richmond Community of Care will also inaugurate a new 9 story acute care tower, currently scheduled to open in 2028.
Richmond is an attractive community with one of the fastest aging populations in Canada. Bordering the City of Vancouver, Richmond offers top-rated schools, and convenient access to the recreational and leisure activities, arts, and culture that have made the Lower Mainland of British Columbia famous throughout the world.
The applicant may be eligible to augment their allotted FTE in the future depending on the needs of the Division and with approval from the Medical Lead.
Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to delivering exceptional care and building a great place to work. At VCH, we value and accommodate unique differences to ensure that our staff and medical staff – both current and prospective – have the opportunity and are supported to thrive.
To build a strong and representative workforce, we are seeking candidates who will contribute to a caring and inclusive culture. We encourage applications from members of communities that are disadvantaged on any grounds under the B.C. Human Rights Code, including Indigenous Peoples, people of colour, people of all genders and sexualities and people with disabilities.
