We’re seeking a passionate Associate Product Manager – Industrial Processes, to help us deliver significant business value through software products and platforms in the critical area of plant processes.
As part of the Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) division, the Associate Product Manager – Industrial Processes will be a key member of our software development teams that are enabling the creation, delivery and support for digital products. Working closely with business stakeholders, as part of integrated teams with designers and engineers, you’ll collaborate widely with end users to uncover key problems to solve, develop solutions, and deploy them to users across our business.
Specifically, sustainable plant processes are a challenge facing the entire industry and Rio Tinto continues to invest in the delivery of innovative long-term solutions to critical environmental, social and commercial concerns. We’re developing bespoke digital products around plant processes that will ultimately be deployed globally to add strength to our social license-to-operate and to make lasting impact on both communities and the environment.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive the planning and execution of requirements gathering and prioritization for product initiatives, transforming complex user needs into tangible product requirements.
  • Oversee all segments of the product lifecycle, including the discovery around new problems to solve, the rollout of new features, managing updates, and retiring features as necessary.
  • Manage the product backlog in collaboration with key stakeholders and provide a strategic mindset to establish and maintain longer-term roadmaps.
  • Define success metrics and performance indicators for all initiatives to enable continuous product performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain trust with stakeholders through consistent, high-quality product delivery and effective communication.
  • Provide oversight and ensure collaboration with related functions across Design, Engineering, and Data & Analytics as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ensure regular alignment on product direction with key stakeholders and ensuring important product-related decisions are made with effective collaboration.
Responsibilities

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Completed a university degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 8 to 10 years Business Analysis or Product Management experience with broad understanding of product lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental or operational contexts in manufacturing highly regarded.
  • Have a strong interest in developing your career in Product Management.
  • Effective stakeholder relationship skills with ability to quickly build trust and establish good communication.
  • Excellent team communication skills to specific details to various stakeholders, from leadership to individual team members and technical teams.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Passionate about solving interesting business challenges, especially in the areas related to environment, sustainability and social good.
