Job Description: Senior Manager, P&WC Employee Communications - Employee Engagement Team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Experience in the development and execution of employee communication strategies with measurable outcomes that directly contribute to business goals.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leader.
  • Strong ability to influence executive leaders and to gain their alignment during difficult conversations.
  • Proven experience in executive and employee communications, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong operational skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within the CORE operating system framework.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into clear, concise messaging.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Seek continuous improvement through metrics, feedback collection and evaluation/analytics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Poppulo, and other communication tools.
  • Travel required: 10-25%
    This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee team members who directly support functional communications at the P&WC level, ensuring alignment with broader Pratt & Whitney and RTX strategies, but customizing for P&WC’s local realities.
  • Advise VP-level internal partners on the strategic role of Communications and how the team can best support crucial business objectives.
  • Develop, execute and measure employee communications strategy for P&WC and the Civil Aviation campaign.
  • Lead internal elements of event planning for the P&WC president (town halls as well as other corporate events), including coordination of all activities performed by both vendors and employees.
  • In partnership with the Global Business Communications team supporting P&WC, oversee the strategic development and execution of employee communications that advance P&WC’s business goals.
  • Work across the Employee Engagement and Channels & Content teams to optimize and streamline communications with frontline employees to help drive company success and advance the company’s organizational effectiveness.
  • Act as a trusted internal communications advisor to the communications team supporting P&WC as well as P&WC’s leadership team to advise on communication best practices, providing guidance on effective communication techniques and strategies.
  • Using an outcomes-based approach, track metrics and identify opportunities to continuously improve communications and P&WC-specific channel strategy, in partnership with the Channels & Content team.
  • Coach all communications team members on how to write for RTX’s broad employee base (not just P&WC).
  • Ensure consistent message pull through of business priorities, aligned to goals in all communications, maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Engage with the Global Business Communications team to maintain a deep understanding of strategic priorities, business performance, and market dynamics, ensuring that communications are timely, relevant, and sensitive to external factors.
  • Write, translate and proofread content such as: briefings, leadership messages, articles, one-off emails, talking points, presentations, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging metrics, soliciting feedback, and applying advanced evaluation and analytics methodologies.
  • Usage, maintenance and update of standard work, procedures and processes related to communications.
  • Remain at the forefront of engagement communication trends, bringing fresh, forward-thinking ideas to the Employee Engagement Team and Communications function.
