POSITION OVERVIEW:

Goshen High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Engineering Teacher to lead our high school engineering pathway within the Indiana Career and Technical Education (CTE) – Engineering & Technology Education career cluster. The ideal candidate will inspire students through hands-on, project-based learning and prepare them for postsecondary education and careers in engineering, technology, and advanced manufacturing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Indiana secondary teaching license or the ability to obtain a CTE license in Engineering and Technology (CTE: I.C. 20-28-5-11)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related fieldORAt least 6,000 hours of documented occupational experience in an engineering-related field
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for helping students connect academic content with future career opportunities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PLTW certification or willingness to complete training
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
  • Familiarity with CNC machines, robotics, or 3D printing
  • Knowledge of dual credit processes, career credentials, or SkillsUSA

  • Deliver instruction aligned to Indiana CTE standards for:


    • Introduction to Engineering Design

    • Principles of Engineering
    • Civil Engineering & Architecture
    • Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)
    • Or other applicable engineering courses
    • Develop and maintain an engaging, industry-relevant curriculum that integrates:


      • Project Lead the Way (PLTW) standards (preferred)

      • Real-world engineering practices and tools
      • STEM career exploration
      • Manage a safe and inclusive lab environment, including use of 3D printers, CNC equipment, and computer-aided design (CAD) software
      • Collaborate with colleagues to align instruction across CTE, math, and science departments
      • Foster partnerships with local industry and higher education to support work-based learning, internships, and credential attainment
      • Participate in CTE advisory board meetings and support program recruitment efforts
      • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications or dual credit opportunities where applicable
      • Maintain accurate records of student progress and meet all state reporting requirements for CTE
