Description
Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. Performs room maintenance duties to include room turnover preparation and trouble shooting of equipment. Performs administrative and other duties as needed. Prepares, cares, and maintains medical equipment and instruments utilized in the endoscopy department. Decontaminates/high level disinfection of equipment used in accordance with Infection Prevention policy and procedures. Follows equipment IFU’s (Instruction for Use). Demonstrates understanding and adheres to proper PPE attire. Provides and maintains a safe environment for patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards. Prioritizes duties according to patient and department needs. Responsible for personal continuing education. Compliance with ethical, professional, and legal standards inherent to patient care and professional conduct. Participates in Process Improvement activities as directed. Collaborates within the GI Team and other health care professional to ensure quality and continuity of care. Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested. Ability to read, write and communicate in English Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (BLS) - Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 90 days of position start, offered within) Basic computer skills. Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested. Must be a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting or have one (1) year current experience (within the past three (3) years) reprocessing flexible endoscopes. Proficient in the decontamination and disinfection of endoscopic equipment (obtained with six (6) months) Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor Certification through CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) (obtain within six (6) months)
