HV Dela Costa Makati City REPORTING TO (ROLE): Chief GI Prod and Prop Officer NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS: 4 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Head of Product and Proposition is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the design, development, management, and execution of the entire portfolio of General Insurance products and propositions. This role aims to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and market competitiveness through innovative product offerings, customer-centric propositions, and effective stakeholder collaboration. The position requires close coordination with multiple functional units including Products, Marketing, Distribution, Underwriting, Pricing & Actuarial, Claims, and Operations. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Product & Proposition Development: Lead the end-to-end development, enhancement, and management of GI products and propositions to meet business targets and market demands. Formulate customer-centric propositions and execute programs/projects for new offerings, revamps, and campaigns. Establish best practices, tools, and processes for product development, pricing, and performance monitoring. Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research, industry benchmarking, and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Provide insightful reports on market dynamics, regulatory changes, and competitor movements to inform strategic decision-making. Strategic Planning & Business Growth: Develop and implement strategies to optimize product portfolio performance, including persistency, profit margins, and sales growth. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve sales processes and customer journeys across distribution channels. Stakeholder Collaboration & Support: Coordinate with internal teams (Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Actuarial, etc.) and external partners to ensure alignment and successful product implementation. Provide training, technical support, and communication strategies to enhance product understanding and sales effectiveness. Regulatory & Compliance: Liaise with regulatory authorities such as the Insurance Commission for product approvals and compliance. Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and legal requirements to ensure product compliance and competitiveness. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly track KPIs, sales reports, and other performance metrics to assess success and identify areas for improvement. Analyze reasons for successes or failures and recommend future strategies. Marketing & Communication: Oversee the development of marketing materials, sales tools, and communication plans targeting customers and distribution channels. Drive awareness of GI products through strategic communication initiatives. Partnership & Distribution Management: Evaluate and manage partnerships with agencies, brokers, bancassurance, and other distribution channels. Support training and development initiatives for distribution partners to enhance product promotion and sales. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. KEY PERFORMANCE [LA1] INDICATORS: Business Financials – Topline GWP targets (New Business and Renewal Business) , profitability measures – Combined ratio, loss ratio and ME ratio Behavioral – Lead-manage team, Collaborate across AXA teams and external stakeholders (Regulator), Timely delivery of strategic projects/campaigns EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Management, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related fields. 8-10 years of progressive experience in the Non-Life Insurance industry, including product development, marketing, or sales management. Proven track record of managing product portfolios and developing customer propositions. Strong analytical, quantitative, and data interpretation skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing abilities. Proficient stakeholder management skills with internal teams and external partners. Experience in regulatory compliance, market analysis, and strategic planning.
