Description
Assists with endoscopic procedures, sets up the room with equipment needed for each specific procedure and is responsible for scope reprocessing and preparation of accessory equipment for sterilization. Performs duties adhering to standards of aseptic techniques and in accordance with the Gastroenterology Unit and Temple University Hospital policies and procedures. Also assists professional staff with motility studies performed in the Gastroenterology Section and the Functional Gastrointestinal Disease Center. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Other Operating Room Technician training program. Preferred or Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required Experience 1 year experience in a similar role in GI Preferred Licenses Basic Life Support Required Certified GI Technician Preferred
Responsibilities
The GI Technician assists with endoscopic procedures by setting up the necessary room equipment and is responsible for the reprocessing of scopes and preparation of accessory equipment for sterilization.
