How you’ll contribute A GI Technician who excels in this role: * Assesses the needs of the GI procedure and provides supplies, instruments, and equipment appropriate to the patient, surgeon, and GI procedure. * Ensures the resources are available to implement the plan of care during the GI procedure * Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills appropriate to implement the step-by-step process of specific GI procedures * Demonstrates appropriate communication skills in all aspects of the position. * Demonstrates teamwork in all aspects of the position * Documents patient care activities. * Performs clerical skills. What we’re looking for * Education: High School Graduate or equivalent Required Two years of college Preferred Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) required. * Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) * Licenses: Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) required * Graduate from accredited program for Surgical Technologist preferred. * Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. * Ability to work with culturally diverse population. * Minimum Work Experience Recent experience as an NA-C is required. * Recent experience as OB, GI or Surgical Tech preferred. Responsibilities

The GI Technician assesses procedure needs to provide appropriate supplies, instruments, and equipment for patients and surgeons. They are responsible for implementing the plan of care, documenting patient activities, and performing clerical tasks.
