Description
Purpose: Provides prompt, courteous service to the customers of the gift shop. Responsibilities: Maintain quality control of outgoing merchandise. Assist customers with gift/flower suggestions and refers any customer complaints to Manager of Clerk II. Work weekends, evenings or holidays as needed. Stock candy, magazines and merchandise on a daily basis as necessary. Operate cash register and Lottery machine, opens and closes Shop. Inform Manager or Clerk II when stock items or supplies are low in need of re-ordering. Maintain shop (i.e. dusting, cleaning, rubbish removal) to ensure a safe and aesthetic environment. Conform to The Basics of Service Excellence as described in the hospital's orientation program. Answer any incoming phone calls and directs calls appropriately. Receive incoming merchandise, check invoices, unpack and assist with pricing as directed by Manger or Clerk II. Count change bank, Lottery bank and reconciles Lottery receipts at end of day when closing. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 1 year of experience in retail sales (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Customer Service experience preferred.
