We are looking to grow our team. We currently have an opportunity for a Grinder/Finisher.
The Grinder/Finisher, under the direction of the Team Lead, will primarily be responsible to ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards, as well as customer needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or metal finishing is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in grinding, polishing, or precision finishing.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner, like angle grinders, orbital sander, die grinder, deburring tool, and other hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and tolerances (GD & T)
  • Familiarity with ISO-certified manufacturing environments (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485) and quality documentation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing defect-free parts.
  • Ability to maintain part identification and batch traceability throughout production.
  • Knowledge of machine safety procedures, including guarding, lockout/tagout, and PPE use.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency.
  • Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, to carry out production and inspection processes.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools.
  • Mark, record, and report defective products.
  • Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day.
  • Follow prioritized production plan
  • Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or equipment
  • Clean, inspect, lubricate equipment, and tools.
  • Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs.
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance components.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety.
  • Communicate with supervisor and/or quality control associate, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues.
