Job Details Position Type: Fulltime Exempt Staff Education Level: 4 Year Degree Job Category: Education The Girls Flag Football - Program Director and PE Teacher is responsible for managing, developing and leading the 7th through 12th grade Girls’ Volleyball Program while supporting and upholding the School’s mission. This position includes coaching in season, off season and summer programs for both upper and middle school. The position is responsible for teaching one section of Upper School Physical Education. They will serve as an important part of the Admission Team and process. This is a full time, year around position. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Girls Flag Football - Program Director Head coach of the Varsity and Middle School Girls’ Flag Football program Responsible for hiring, staffing, scheduling and evaluation of the Girls’ Flag Football coaching staff Responsible for managing staff hours and timecard approvals Handle parent concerns related to the Girls’ Flag Football program Identify, retain and manage a team parent for the Girls’ Flag Football team Define, manage and communicate all scheduling needs for the Girls’ Flag Football program, organize off-campus sites, playoff locations and other needs Attend all pertinent CIF, League, and Seasonal Coaches meetings pertaining to the sport Attend Athletic Program Head meetings and meet with the Director of Athletics one on one on a consistent basis Manage inventory and distribution of all uniforms and equipment for the program in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director Work closely with Director of Athletics with the management of the budget for the program Responsible for running an in season and off season strength and conditioning program for the Girls’ Flag Football program while working closely with the Sage Hill School Strength and Conditioning Coach developing a program to fit the needs of the team Handle game day management for the entire Girls’ Flag Football Program Work closely with the Athletic Trainer in regard to the program player’s injuries and recovery plan Support, attend and present awards for the program at the Seasonal Athletic Awards Celebrations Plan, organize and execute an upper school off season program for girls’ flag football through the Lightning Club program. Assist with coaching a middle school winter sport and Upper School game management for the winter season Plan, organize and execute Girls’ Flag Football summer camps for middle school and high school students through the Summer at Sage program Oversee and manage the social media sites for Girls’ Volleyball including but not limited to Instagram, X, and YouTube Other duties as delegated by the Director of Athletics Faculty Member Teach a section of Physical Health (P.E.) in the Upper School Attend all faculty/staff meetings Read and adhere to all polices of the Academic Handbook Participate in the School’s advisory program Participate in the School’s Service Learning Program Admission Team Member Help with the admission process as defined by the Director of Admission Interview students and read student files Attend school events as needed Supervisory responsibilities: Girls’ Flag Football coaching staff and trainers Qualifications Experience as a Program Head or Head Coach Ability to supervise and manage a coaching staff Ability to manage all aspects of a sports program Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong conflict resolution Excellent collegiality, professionalism and organizational ability Superior oral and written communication skills Strong understanding of the culture and goals of independent schools Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently and effectively within a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment Ability to work well with teenagers and their parents Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to use sound judgment and work independently B.A. or B.S. degree in appropriate field, M.A. or M.S. preferred
Responsibilities
The Program Director and PE Teacher will manage and lead the Girls’ Flag Football program for grades 7-12, including coaching, staff management, and program development. They will also teach Physical Education and participate in the admission process.
