Description
Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. Basketball is a game that humbles you and requires hard work and consistency. It's played efficiently where your motto is "do more, with less." It's played at the highest level by being exceptional at the fundamentals. You can't get bored with the basics and we're not too cool to start a young athlete on Mikans and weave. It's a game that has to be played with a high degree of confidence and often times that starts with the coach. It's played best when the team has bought in on the culture and the positive chemistry is tangible. If you feel yourself relating to the above statements, you've probably played at a fairly competitive level and are what I'm looking for. Coaching public school athletics is a calling and requires a servitude that demands hours and hours for little pay. This position is at a 6A school in Gilbert and I'm looking to grow my coaching staff to find people bought in on building something special in girls basketball. I'm looking for someone to lead our JV team while offering guidance to my girls at the varsity level. I'm mostly looking for former athletes but am open to people with comparable coaching experience. Please note that this position is paid by the district so it's only between $2k-$3k for the season.
