SUMMARY:

AgReserves is seeking an enthusiastic Geographic Information Systems Analyst II to join our highly collaborate GIS team. This is a practical, hands-on position who maintains GIS data and produces cartographic/spatial products in support of agricultural investments and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, geosciences or in a related degree such as agronomy or natural/environmental science.
  • 3+ years of GIS experience using ESRI software (e.g. ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps etc.) in an agriculture, natural resources, land management or related field.
  • Working knowledge and use of GPS, coordinate systems, UAV, as well as related setup, processing, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
  • Ability to design professional spatial products.
  • Excellent leadership, verbal, written, problem-solving and listening skills.
  • In-state driver’s license with ability to travel locally, within the US and internationally.
  • Willing and able to spend at least 50% of time in the field collecting GPS and other data, which includes exposure to outside weather conditions and traversing rough terrain.

Responsibilities
  • Produce digital and physical geographic products in support of company needs.
  • Implement standards and workflow processes for the creation, maintenance, and distribution of spatial data, including collecting accurate GPS data.
  • Create and maintain key corporate spatial and other GIS related datasets through use of coordinate geometry, GPS, digitization, keyboard entry of tabular data, and other methods.
  • Participate as a team member on interdisciplinary projects that require GIS expertise and involvement.
  • Stay abreast of emerging GIS technologies, trends, and best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows and outcomes.
  • Provide technical support for GIS related field applications used in production agriculture.
  • Address complex geographic challenges using various GIS methods.
  • Read and map out land description issues using GIS tools.
  • Train employees in basic use of GIS and GPS technology providing technical assistance and policy guidance.
