New Found Gold Corp., a leading gold exploration company based in Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador, is seeking an experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst to support our Geoscience Data Manager.
This is a remote position, with the successful candidate required to reside in or east of Ontario to align with team time zones. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented geologist with strong GIS expertise who thrives in a collaborative environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geospatial Science or equivalent.
• Three years experience in mining or exploration field.
• P.Geo or G.I.T designation.
• Proficiency with GIS software (QGIS and ArcGIS).
• Experience with Leapfrog considered an asset.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams).
• Experience with Dropbox file management.

Reporting to the Geoscience Data Manager, the GIS Analyst will play a key role in managing and advancing the company’s geoscience data systems. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining the company’s GIS database and data management systems.
• Designing, organizing, and maintaining technical team file and folder structures.
• Collaborating with technical staff to support data management needs.
• Capturing, digitizing, and reviewing open-file data for integration into the GIS database.
• Monitoring and validating new and existing datasets.
• Assisting with reporting, including assessment filings and technical reports.
• Compiling data across the company’s exploration projects.
• Supporting land management by tracking exploration expenditures and renewal dates.
