At Savage, our greatest asset is our people, and we’re committed to fostering a culture of growth, safety, and respect.
The Opportunity
Are you a GIS professional passionate about turning complex data into real-world solutions? As our GIS Analyst, you will be the backbone of our data operations, directly ensuring the integrity and safety of critical infrastructure. You will be a vital link between our clients, field teams, and state-wide safety systems like Texas 811. We are looking for a detail-driven individual ready to take ownership of key data processes and grow with a forward-thinking company.

What You’ll Do

  • Data Management & Mapping: Meticulously create, update, and manage core geospatial datasets, including web maps and feature layers in ArcGIS Online, serving as the key point of contact for clients to ensure data accuracy.
  • 811 Data Integration: Manage the critical workflow of preparing and submitting spatial datasets to state 811 systems, ensuring full compliance with all technical requirements.
  • Data Analysis & Reconciliation: Proactively analyze data returned from 811 systems to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring our utility coverage maps are always current and accurate.
  • Field Collaboration & Travel: Travel to project sites in West Texas as needed to support field operations, collaborate with teams, and ensure data accuracy on the ground.
  • Platform Integration & Collaboration: Champion seamless data flow by collaborating with third-party platforms (e.g., Korterra) and assisting with API-based integration projects.
  • Quality Control & Process Improvement: Uphold the highest standards of data precision and identify opportunities to innovate and improve our data management workflows.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a GIS-focused role (Analyst, Technician, Specialist).
  • High proficiency with the Esri ArcGIS suite, especially ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro.
  • A strong foundation in geospatial data principles, data management, and quality control.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills for professional client and team interaction.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
