- You’ll engineer the spatial brain behind Eneco’s energy assets — from underground pipes to offshore wind farms.
You’ll bring GIS into the age of predictive and connected energy, moving from static maps to live insights.
You’ll contribute to Eneco’s climate-neutral future, one geospatial layer at a time.
Why choose Eneco?
At Eneco, we’re building the energy company of the future - one that’s climate neutral by 2035. Our One Planet strategy is one of Europe’s boldest, focused on electrification, sustainability, and digitalization. GIS is a critical enabler of this transformation: every spatial insight helps us act faster, plan smarter, and operate greener.
What you’ll do
At Eneco, we don’t just generate clean energy — we manage the complex infrastructures that deliver it to millions of people. As our GIS Engineer, you will shape the digital twin of that infrastructure. From underground heat networks to offshore wind assets, GIS is the invisible layer connecting our physical and digital worlds.
You’ll work on our enterprise GIS platform, making sure it is scalable, secure, and future-ready. By collaborating with asset managers, field technicians, and data experts, you’ll deliver spatial solutions that enable faster decisions, smarter planning, and more efficient maintenance — directly contributing to Eneco’s ambition to be climate neutral by 2035.
Is this about you?
You’re passionate about geospatial technology and see maps not just as visuals, but as powerful decision engines. You thrive in complex technical environments, love solving performance challenges at scale, and enjoy transforming legacy processes into modern, user-friendly solutions.
You bring:
- A degree in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong expertise in ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, Python/ArcPy, SQL, REST APIs, and tools such as FME or Airflow.
- Experience integrating GIS with business systems (e.g. SAP PM or Asset Management platforms).
- Familiarity with Azure, containerization, and spatial services in hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, DevOps principles, and CI/CD pipelines.
You’ll be responsible for
- Developing, configuring, and optimizing our ESRI ArcGIS-based environment, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance.
- Turning spatial data into a strategic asset by mapping critical business processes into geospatial solutions (asset tracking, field operations, fault response, and urban expansion).
- Building APIs, data pipelines, and integrations with systems such as SAP PM, digital twin environments, and Snowflake.
- Driving engineering excellence by defining coding standards, guiding testing strategy, and setting up best practices in spatial software development.
- Coaching and collaborating with colleagues through mentoring, knowledge-sharing sessions, and vendor engagement.
This is where you’ll work
