WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Must have:

  • A Degree or Diploma and Advanced Certificate in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent demonstratable experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of directly related experience with the B.C. Forest Industry
  • Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS tools and Trimble Forestry’s Land Resource Manager
  • Experience in the use of all types of remote sensing data
  • A solid technical understanding of databases and Microsoft Office™ applications
  • An understanding B.C. Forest Management practices
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The GIS Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of geospatial services for the creation of GIS products to support our forest operations.

AS A GIS SPECIALIST YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • GPS data downloading and processing
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Maintenance of Geodatabases
  • Production of operational maps and products
  • Performance of quality assurance and tracking
