Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a GIS Specialist to join a government consulting partner supporting the Global Emerging Infections Surveillance (GEIS) Program in Silver Spring, MD through hybrid work (3 days onsite). The GIS Specialist will support global biosurveillance efforts by mapping health events and outbreaks using ArcGIS and Python, helping inform vaccine and treatment planning for deployed military personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of GIS experience, preferably in federal or DoD environments
• Strong proficiency in ArcGIS and Python
• Experience with geospatial data management and automation
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in GIS, Environmental Science, or related field
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance required

• Develop and maintain GIS products to track global health events and outbreaks
• Use ArcGIS to visualize and analyze data from global labs
• Write Python scripts to automate data movement and integration
• Support epidemiological analysis and reporting for military health planning
• Collaborate with technical and program teams to deliver actionable insights
