Description
Cognizant is a large IT Consulting Firm that leverages modern technologies to transform a variety of business operations. The GIS Tools Manager is the liaison between Operations and Engineering Stakeholders and is responsible for ensuring their team’s timely delivery of high-quality operationalized Extract/Transform/Load tools and workflows that fulfill stakeholder requirements. Please note that this role is fully onsite in Bothell, WA. Only local candidates will be considered. Role Responsibilities • Undertake Design Consultations / Requirements Engineering with Stakeholder teams • Lead/Manage team development of new tools/Dashboards • Analyze and resolve tools and/or software problems: Diagnose and resolve complex problems discovered in tools/ products • Act as a technology expert for Geo Operators and Program Stakeholders, removing technical obstacles and resolving user reported problems. • Coordinate with Geo Program and engineering teams to appropriately file bugs and escalate issues, ensure reproducibility and clearly communicate user issues • Coordinate tools releases and updates to Operations teams • Test tool fixes/changes/new features deployed by engineering teams • Submit code changes for tools (as needed) • Diagnose global geo problems related to software, linux and windows • Responds to support tickets for technical issues (bugs, latency, tool issues) and coordinating debugging and analysis and escalating bugs that negatively impact operations according to the thresholds established in a timely and clear way. Desired Skills & Experience • 15 years of GIS-related industry experience • Expert understanding of FME and ArcGIS capabilities and their application in solutioning ETL and Data Quality needs • At least 5 years of Project Management experience, preferably Agile • At least 10 years of experience leading technical teams on a fast pace environment • Scripting knowledge, preferably with Python experience and/or SQL. JavaScript is a plus, but not required • Master's degree • Technological savviness • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business. • Comfortable with a rapidly-changing environment • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail • Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem solving Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
