Inspiring Great Futures.As the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows approaches its 50th Anniversary, we are seeking a highly relational, community-embedded fundraiser who thrives outside the office and inside meaningful conversations. The Director of Giving is a visible ambassador for the organization – regularly meeting donors and prospects for coffees, lunches, Clubhouse tours, networking meetings, and community events, including WIN and EDAWN events—while pairing relationship-building with strong operational discipline. This role is responsible for growing philanthropic revenue through major gifts, monthly giving (including the $50/month anniversary initiative), corporate giving, sponsorships, and employee payroll deduction programs. The position is accountable for cultivating, stewarding, and expanding an assigned donor portfolio while actively identifying new donor pipelines. The Individual Giving Director works closely with the Chief Development Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Board President to develop compelling asks, donor strategies, and long-term stewardship opportunities. This position carries an expectation of $500,000+ in new and returning giving and plays a critical role in shaping the organization’s next chapter. These are some of the additional responsibilities of the Giving Director: Serve as a visible, engaged ambassador for the organization by consistently meeting donors and prospects through coffees, lunches, Clubhouse tours, networking meetings, and community events, including WIN and EDAWN events. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and corporate donors across all giving levels, with a focus on long-term, relationship-based philanthropy. Lead individual giving strategies aligned with the organization’s 50th Anniversary Resource Development goals, including: Major and mid-level gifts Monthly giving initiatives (including the $50/month campaign) Corporate giving, sponsorships, and employee payroll deduction programs Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of donors with clear expectations to increase engagement and giving year over year. Proactively identify and qualify new donors to build and sustain a strong donor pipeline. Maintain ownership of a $500,000+ annual revenue goal from new and returning individual and corporate donors. Accurately document all donor communications, meetings, goals, strategies, outcomes, and next steps within the Club’s Salesforce CRM. Track and report on donor activity, pipeline health, and progress toward revenue goals using Salesforce. Build strong, collaborative relationships with BGCTM Programming staff to fully understand and articulate the organization’s work serving babies, youth, and teens across the community. Develop and deliver compelling donor storytelling grounded in program knowledge, site visits, and real-world impact. Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Board President to create donor strategies, solicitation plans, and stewardship opportunities. Support and coach Board Members in donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation efforts. Partner with the Resource Development team on organizational fundraising events, including sponsorship sales, donor engagement, and event execution. Qualifications Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, individual giving, major gifts, or a closely related development role. Demonstrated success in securing and growing individual and corporate gifts, including major and mid-level donors. Proven experience managing a donor portfolio and meeting or exceeding significant annual revenue goals (experience with six-figure portfolios and/or $500K+ annual targets strongly preferred). Experience developing and executing donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. Skills & Abilities that make a successful Giving Director / Resource Development Director: Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage ambitious goals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Comfort and confidence engaging donors in face-to-face settings, including coffees, lunches, tours, networking events, and community gatherings Experience collaborating with executive leadership, board members, and senior volunteers on donor strategy and solicitation efforts. Strong working knowledge of donor management systems; Salesforce CRM experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to serve as a compelling storyteller and organizational ambassador. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends to support donor meetings, events, and community engagement.
