Position: GL Lead Location: Chennai - Onsite/Hybrid Shift Timing: 3.30PM to 12.30AM IST (Indian Time) Engagement Type: Full Time About the role: We are seeking an experienced GL Lead to manage end-to-end General Ledger activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and lead month-end and year-end closing processes. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing a team. Required Experience: 5 to 8 years of relevant experience / exposure in Record to Report (RTR), Payables and Receivables processes with strong hands-on expertise in Month-End Close activities, including Journal Entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Intercompany accounting, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations. Deep understanding of accounting principles, close timelines, process dependencies, and financial controls is required, along with the ability to lead close cycles, manage stakeholder coordination, handle complex accounting scenarios, and drive process improvements and standardization initiatives. Responsibilities: Lead the preparation, standardization, and maintenance of SOPs across processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements. Define SOP documentation structure, content standards, and process mapping frameworks to drive consistency across operations. Own SOP governance, including version control management, approval workflows, and adherence to organizational policies. Act as a primary client-facing point of contact, coordinating with client-side Managers / Senior Managers / Controllers to obtain approvals and drive alignment. Ensure proper organization, tracking, audit readiness, and timely updates of SOP documentation repositories. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven client interaction and stakeholder management experience. Utilize advanced Google Sheets / MS Excel capabilities for tracking, reporting, and process analysis. Preferred / Value Added: NetSuite / JIRA experience is preferable Experience in process transitions, migrations, or automation initiatives Exposure to KPI reporting and dashboard preparation Identify process improvement and automation opportunities Additional Expectations: Ability to mentor junior team members from PTP, OTC and RTR and review their work Drive efficiency, quality improvements, and standardization initiatives High performance delivered Customer WOW
