SUMMARY

Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for several Manufacturing Oven Operators to join our operations team at our Buford, GA location. The primary responsibility of this role is to load runs into the ovens used in the quartz glass manufacturing process with glass cylinders and ensure the quality and quantity in accordance with customer expectations. This position will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heights.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years relevant manufacturing experience required.
• 1 year oven operating experience a plus.
• Prior experience in SAP a plus.
• Data entry and basic mathematics a plus.
• The ability to troubleshooting technology and computer issues as required.

Experience:

• Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)
• Quartz glass: 1 year (Preferred)

• Perform all aspects of the Operator position including the Tipping oven.
• Operate two ovens simultaneously with knowledge and skills in both tubing and preforms.
• Assist with heater rebuilds as needed & general preventive maintenance (PM’s) on all ovens within scope.
• Prepare and complete all required paperwork, SAP and QDC entries.
• Monitor the work of the CMI operators and reviews the accuracy of the work being performed, data entries, & paperwork submitted by them.
• Load glass cylinders into ovens according to customer requirements
• Apply knowledge of SPC visual and dimensional criteria.
• Ensure that the quality standards for each product are being met.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor on duty of any mechanical, quality, or production issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
