JOB SUMMARY

The Glass Polish Machine Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring polishing machines to achieve smooth and high-quality finishes on glass surfaces. This role ensures precision and efficiency in the polishing process while adhering to safety and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machine operation or glass polishing is preferred.

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating glass polishing machines or working in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with various glass types and polishing techniques.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting manual and automated glass polishing machines.
  • Knowledge of polishing tools, abrasives, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Attention to detail and strong focus on quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to lift, carry, and handle glass materials safely.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation:
  • Set up and operate glass polishing machines to process edges and surfaces according to design specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings, such as speed and pressure, to achieve the required finish.
  • Glass Polishing:
  • Polish glass surfaces to remove scratches, rough edges, and imperfections.
  • Inspect and measure glass to ensure it meets quality standards after polishing.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct visual and manual inspections of finished products to ensure precision and smoothness.
  • Address any issues or defects during the polishing process and make necessary adjustments.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on polishing machines.
  • Ensure polishing tools, abrasives, and consumables are in good condition and replaced as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow safety procedures to handle glass materials and operate polishing machines safely.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the work area is free from hazards.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments, such as cutting and fabrication, to meet production timelines.
  • Communicate any issues or suggestions for process improvements to supervisors.
