JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a strong, honest, trustworthy, reliable, hardworking individual with a good attitude and flexible schedule to assist our team in glass installations, door and window repairs on a casual / on-call / part-time basis as a general helping hand working primarily during the day mondays through to Fridays. The ideal candidate will work in many various construction and restoration projects, both commercial and residential, working alongside an experienced Glazier(s) and other tradespeople to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. This role requires a strong willingness to learn, follow instructions and a decent understanding of hand tool operations but with an even greater emphasis on the ability to lift heavy glass panels and sealed units comfortably under proper instruction and supervision.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to comfortably assist lifting, moving, setting, heavy glass in the 100-200lb range.
  • Experience or knowledge in construction-related fields is preferred.
  • Familiarity with use of basic hand tools is preferred.
  • Skills in mathematical problem solving with fractions as it relates to measuring, levelling is valued.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and techniques within the trade.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively in a team environment.

A LITTLE ABOUT US:

We are a newer small, family-oriented, local Kamloops based, glass installation company, soon going into our 3rd year of business. We primarily do residential high-end frameless glass installations in new homes and renovations but also a fair amount of work with commercial storefronts as our main area of work. Business comes in sporadic waves, from not so busy to overwhelmed with multiple jobs on the go at a time. As a new business things are anything but consistent but we continue to grow and make many great new relationships with many clients and contractors all over the city.
We take safety seriously and client/customer satisfaction and relations are of the utmost importance, so all applicants must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to present themselves in a respectable manner at all times
Having your own Steel-toe CSA-approved footwear is a must and mandatory.All other safety supplies will be provided as needed.

The future of this position could potentially lead to more steady hours of regular work or full-time position for the right candidate and/or a full Apprenticeship, if so desired.
Trades experience is an asset but not necessary.
