As a Global Application Specialist - DC applications, you will play a key role in developing and advancing next generation power systems with a focus on solid-state circuit breaker technology. This breakthrough innovation is transforming how energy is distributed and protected in modern energy networks, battery energy storage systems, and mission-critical infrastructure. In this global position, you will collaborate with a visionary team focused on the creation, promotion, and validation of groundbreaking DC applications.
Working closely with customers, you’ll help design, promote, and deliver solutions that meet the growing demand for high performance, reliability, and sustainability in the evolving energy landscape. You’ll be deeply involved in experiencing and solving the electrification challenges of the future - directly alongside our customers.
Work model: hybrid/onsite/remote.
The location for this role is flexible, with a preference for candidates in the European time zone.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Promote, develop and validate next-generation applications and solutions in the field of emerging Direct Current electrification that drives customer value in close collaboration with Product Management and R&D.
  • Collaborate closely with customers worldwide to address emerging needs around DC applications and solid-state circuit breaker technology.
  • Develop training, value propositions, promotional, and communication materials that help bring DC solid state circuit breaker technology to market.
  • Collaborate with global teams to support digital marketing campaigns and awareness-building around DC applications.
  • Analyze market trends, define ABB’s positioning within the competitive landscape, and recommend strategic adjustments for long- and mid-term planning.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering (degree of power electronics considered as an asset)
  • 5+ years of industrial experience, with experience in Direct Current (DC) applications
  • Previous experience working with customers and building relationships Knowledge of low-voltage distribution system design and protection devices with solid understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes related to electrification and power technologies
  • Willingness and availability to travel frequently to engage with customers and global teams Previous experience working with R&D teams is considered a plus
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English
