Engagement Leadership Lead and manage a team of audit professionals, including senior and staff members, in planning, executing, and concluding audit engagements Ensure adherence to engagement timelines, budgets, and firm standards Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for audit engagements Provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients for improving financial processes, controls, and reporting Audit Planning and Strategy Collaborate with partners and directors to develop comprehensive audit strategies and plans that address client-specific risks and objectives Oversee the allocation of resources, assignment of roles, and development of audit programs Audit Execution, Review, Technical Expertise Conduct complex audit procedures, review workpapers, and assess audit findings to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and disclosures Monitor the progress of audit engagements, providing guidance to resolve challenges and meet milestones Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to engagement Provide expert guidance to the team on complex accounting and auditing issues Team Development and Mentorship Coach, mentor, and develop audit staff and senior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development Quality Control and Assurance Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of audit documentation, reports, and conclusions with firm standards and regulations Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance the quality of audit engagements Business Development Identify opportunities to expand the firm's client base and service offerings Contribute to business development activities, including client proposals, presentations, and networking Supervisory responsibilities Will supervise subordinate team members Work environment Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions Physical demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time Required education and experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field 5 – 8 years of relevant experience 5+ years of relevant audit experience within a CPA firm, with progressive leadership responsibilities CPA license is required; equivalent certifications are required for IT audit Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications Preferred education and experience Experience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial consulting firm, or similar setting Other duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the colleague for this job.
