Supercharge your career with the support of a global team that empowers you to do your best work.  We are looking for a talented Global Automation Engineer- Senior to join our team specializing in Automation, Robotics and Manufacturing Technology within our Global Manufacturing Engineering team supporting Cummins Worldwide, based in San Luis Potosí, México.  (Hybrid role: 3 days onsite, 2 days home office) Job Summary: Identifies, develops, and validates advanced or complex manufacturing processes or technologies. Focuses on global solutions. Leads, co-leads, or advises manufacturing teams including the integration of Manufacturing Engineering with other functions. Either demonstrates advanced comprehensive manufacturing knowledge in one discipline or integrates manufacturing technology or processes across several disciplines.  In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: * Partner with Global Manufacturing Engineering, Business Units, and Sites to leverage Automation and drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. * Combine program management, project management, and technical expertise, along with hands-on support, to effectively meet business needs. * Serve as a global technical expert in Robotics (Industrial, Collaborative, Mobile, etc.), guiding sites and teams on application best practices, technology selection, and implementation. * Apply deep expertise to assess, validate, and implement emerging manufacturing technologies, analyzing their end-to-end impact to ensure alignment with global safety, cost, quality, and delivery objectives. * Drive sustainable, long-term solutions to systemic manufacturing challenges while contributing to the resolution of complex, enterprise-wide issues across the global network. * Strengthen technical capability and alignment by collaborating with indirect suppliers and elevating team knowledge through structured coaching and mentorship. To be successful in this role, you will need: * Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the application of automation within manufacturing environments, including supporting strategy development and building strong business cases. * Deep technical knowledge of automation systems (automation solutions, robotics integrations, CNC, PLC, sensor solutions, SCADA, HMI)  and technologies, including safety systems ( LIDAR. Pilz. Laser scanners,), maintenance considerations, and end-of-arm tooling (end effectors, grippers). * Strong understanding of applicable robotics and machinery safety standards; knowledge of mobile robotics safety standards is a strong plus. * Proven experience in the design, development, installation, and commissioning of robotic and automation solutions in automotive, food, warehousing sector or related. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment: action-oriented, capable of managing complexity, and communicating effectively across diverse stakeholders. * Strong technical acumen with the ability to drive vision and purpose within teams and projects. * Advanced English proficiency.
