WHAT YOU’LL BRING

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Claims Experience: significant exposure in Energy Transition (solar, wind, bioenergy, etc.)- including experience handling complex claims. Specialized product-specific experience required as well as good working knowledge of litigation management and pertinent regulatory issues.
  • Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional insurance coverage law and claim regulations.
  • Market knowledge: A good knowledge of Americas, UK &Lloyds, APAC & Europe market dynamics, processes, and systems.
  • Customer Focus: High dedication to customer service including professionalism and diplomacy in broker and insured relations.
  • Excellent Collaborator: Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with claims handlers and managers as well as insureds, brokers, underwriters and legal counsel. Providing guidance and seeking input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible. Capable of working and collaborating with a virtual team.
  • Supportive of colleagues/emerging talent: Providing support, encouragement and training to colleagues as required.
  • Excellent Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of sophistication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities.

Responsibilities

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Globally monitoring a portfolio of the largest and most complex losses and potential exposures in Energy Transition, to promote best claim handling practices and ensure compliance with early warning and large loss protocols. Providing insights into watchlist developments and emerging risks & trends.
  • Be the technical expertise point of reference for our regional teams handling Energy Transition claims, collaborating with those teams on the handling of the largest losses and also working with them in monitoring the entire portfolio, to identify and share trends and lessons learned.
  • Large Loss Governance: Ensuring that across the portfolio, claims handling is compliant with the Large Loss Framework with active participation and leadership in roundtable and watchlist review meetings. Driving accurate and timely reserving of our largest ET claims.
  • Act as a main stakeholder to the Energy transition leads in other functions. Act as a Strategic Business Partner to the Energy Transition Team, GCUO Energy and Regional CUOs for Energy as well as the Regional Claims Teams in accurate reporting of large claims and emerging trends.
  • Collaborating with Country Claims Managers and Claims Handlers on processes related to coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and resolution of claims in accordance with Global Claims guidelines, service standards and regulations.
  • Create and lead an Energy Transition Claims community to connect and energize the team, encourage sharing of knowledge and learnings and also facilitate training. Engaging with other Practice leaders within the Global Practice community to ensure consistent support, input and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain an external network/panel of Experts ( Adjusters/Forensic accountants etc) that can work on AXA XL claims across the Globe and also provide value added services to us (such as internal training).
  • Assessing potential high severity claims and difficult issues across multiple jurisdictions including determining case strategies and action plans with the Claims Handlers / Managers & The Practice
  • In conjunction with the Claims Managers, serving as a strategic business partner to and collaborator with the local Underwriting Managers for Energy Transition and the dedicated reserving actuaries as well as other key stakeholders; providing critical post-loss analysis, wording guidance and feedback.
  • Be the focal point for the development of ET Claims Lessons Learned, Claims Data and Trends analysis, ensuring this key information shared with all relevant stakeholders within and outside claims.
