SUMMARY

The Global Customer Business Unit Director will manage multiple customers within the Capital Equipmentsegment. They will act as the primary Senior Manager interface and ultimate decision maker on all customerbusiness expansion areas and influence on operations. Requires developing new strategies, policies, practices,methods, programs or techniques and utilizing them to analyze and interpret difficult problems or situations and/orestablishing new strategic direction that is site/multi-site-specific plans and objectives. Has overall responsibility forplanning, budgeting, implementing/maintaining costs, methods and employees in the functional area. Makes finaldecisions on administrative and customer matters in area of responsibility to ensure achievement of objectives. Has overall revenue accountability for customer business operations. This role reports to the VP of CapitalEquipment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Global Customer Business Unit Director’s responsibility scope includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Acts as a primary interface between the customer and internal teams to manage specific deliverables to achieve planned objectives.
  • Receives and addresses customer requests and escalations with the support of internal teams.
  • Acts as a customer advocate to drive prioritization of projects and responses to customer issues.
  • Analyzes financial and operational performance relative to targets, developing and implementing plans to address problem areas.
  • Leads commercial negotiations required to maximize account financial performance.
  • Typical projects include: pricing, contract negotiation, project management, new product introduction support, and program transfer oversight.
  • Manages current and planned projects to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Drives and monitors plans to meet commitments and schedules.
  • Analyzes customer metrics and works with internal teams to ensure corrective action plans are in place and on target to address shortfalls.
  • Coordinates regular project tracking meetings with the customer and internal team members to ensure ongoing communication and accurate progress/status reporting occurs.
  • Participates in development and execution of account plans and strategies.
  • Participates in the pricing/bid preparation process. Works with sales, finance and customer to understand the customer’s needs and develop proposals to meet those needs.
  • Develops market sub-segment strategy, including synthesizing market trends and needs to develop go-to- market strategies, target accounts, and value propositions.
  • Develop and execute global account product life-cycle strategy for profitable growth
  • Participates in the development and presentation of insight-led customer proposals.
  • Establishes cadence to ensure customer contractual obligations are met while ensuring Celestica’s interests are protected.
  • Ownership of the financial P&L and balance sheet performance.
  • Ownership for Customer relationship directly at a senior level; and monitoring of Customer satisfaction across all business elements.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum 10 years relevant product experience in an electronics or electro-mechanical organization.
  • Knowledge of the semi-conductor, capital equipment market would be a distinct advantage.
  • Of those 10 years, minimum of 6 years of experience building and leading integrated teams from various internal and external organizations
  • Ability to manager business and organizational vision by communicating a compelling purpose, driving change cross-organizationally, and inspiring and motivating people and organizations
  • Ability to effectively organize, manage and motivate team members from a wide variety of departments and geographies with a diverse group of skill sets.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Experience in supply chain management including planning and/or procurement is a bonus
  • Some level of fluency in financial costing/pricing required as well as an in-depth knowledge of contracts and associated quoting processes
  • Demonstrated written presentation communication skills

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE

  • More than eleven years relevant experience

TYPICAL EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field
  • MBA degree preferred
