JOB SUMMARY

The Office of Global Affairs develops inclusive and accessible educational opportunities around the globe for University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN) students. The Office of Global Affairs is seeking an individual to work with our team on global and community outreach activities. As the Global Engagement Manager, you will support the efforts of international teaching, learning and research experiences for students and faculty in the UMSN. You will be responsible for: supporting processes to meet the needs of students and faculty; coordinating faculty led immersion travel with student groups and internal/external constituencies to UMSN; the preparation of students for international experiences; and working with faculty and global host sites to ensure quality learning experience and/or research study.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of demonstrated professional work experience in a university study abroad office or study abroad program provider organization.
  • Direct experience with intercultural program management and advising.
  • Experience living, studying, or working abroad and/or proficiency in a language other than English.
  • Experience constructing budgets.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums, including social media.   • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as other database, email and calendar-keeping software.
