Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
Global Fixed Income (GFI) is responsible for managing portfolios in liquidity, U.S. Treasuries, mortgage-backed securities, investment-grade corporates, high-yield corporates, and emerging market sovereign bonds.
Under the supervision of the Associate Investment Manager (AIM), the Investment Officer I (IO I) performs analysis to assist the AIM with supporting the business needs of GFI at the entry, development, and first working level. The IO I will maintain a positive team approach while demonstrating CalPERS’ Core Values of Quality, Respect, Integrity, Openness, Accountability, and Balance in accordance with personal work ethic in alignment with CalPERS Investment Beliefs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Build or assist in the development of software tools to enhance the investment process throughout GFI. Conduct analysis of market data utilizing tools and programs to assist in said development.
  • Act as a liaison between the various CalPERS and INVO groups supporting the business needs of GFI and the organization, including anything from external manager fees and projections to how GFI has benefited the state of California.
  • Participate in and/or provide assistance to project teams to research and report on GFI Strategic and Roadmap initiatives.
  • Independently track, monitor, review, and ensure timely and accurate reporting utilizing Microsoft Office.
  • Assist the AIM with executing contracts, contract amendments, and solicitations. Assist with contract fulfillment of the external managers.

Pay: $4,365.00 - $8,290.00 per month
