JOB DESCRIPTION – GLOBAL GRACE CAFÉ CO-MANAGER REFORMED CHURCH OF HIGHLAND PARK AFFORDABLE HOUSING CORPORATION

Position Description
The primary purpose of the Global Grace Café Co-Manager is to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Cafe and its employees. This position is for 25 hours/week and will report to the CEO.

Responsibilities Include

  • Assist with all aspects of the operation of Global Grace Cafe, which serves lunch Monday – Friday
  • Seek out opportunities for to increase catering services and oversee catering gigs using café chefs.
  • Oversee food preparation and serving by the paid chefs and volunteers utilizing proper food, facility, cleaning, and safety protocols.
  • Work with I-RISE staff to recruit and schedule refugee chefs to take part in the FoodSafe training.
  • Coordinate with Global Grace Ventures Director on compliance, marketing, and Job Readiness training program.

REQUIREMENTS

Chef training or experience running a commercial kitchen. FoodSafe certified. Experience working with diverse populations, including non-English speaking clients, and individuals from various faith, cultural, and social backgrounds. Ability to multi-task and creatively problem solve, and ability to work in a fast-paced and vibrant environment required.
