Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in finance or business administration preferred and/or commensurate work experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in the property & casualty business, including insurance accounting and/or finance.
  • 5+ years of people leadership.
  • Prior experience as a Finance leader in the specialty insurance or, more broadly, property & casualty insurance industry is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience with statutory accounting principles, taxation, and audit procedures
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of BHSI’s financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other applicable local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances, and carrying recommendations forward to Senior Management.
  • Coordinate and oversee engagement with our external auditors as directed.
  • Review and approve BHSIC Yellow Book STAT reporting for BHSI Senior Management.
  • Manage all third-party vendor relationships owned by the Finance function (examples: ADP, TMF, Anaplan.)
  • Provide financial analysis of third-party customers and vendors as requested by the business.
