Since we opened our doors in 2010, we have reached over 26 million children across 65 countries with the life-saving foods we make here in Rhode Island in partnership with UNICEF, World Food Programme, and the United States Government. Every day we work together to reach children caught in humanitarian crises worldwide and need mission-driven, energetic, passionate problem solvers to join our team.   INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW: Edesia is seeking a dynamic and motivated Intern to support key initiatives across all areas of our organizations such as: Advocacy, Communications, Supply Chain, Philanthropy, R&D, Nutrition, Operations and more! This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, global health advocacy, strategic communications, research & development in nutrition, quality assurance, and supply chain logistics. We adapt to your schedule so you can bring your best energy to the mission!   RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Assist with drafting content for advocacy campaigns, newsletters, press releases, and blog posts. * Support social media strategy by creating and scheduling content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter). * Conduct research on global malnutrition, humanitarian aid trends, and philanthropic opportunities. * Help track and analyze social media engagement and audience growth metrics. * Assist in donor outreach, grant research, and impact reporting to support philanthropy efforts. * Collaborate with various departments to support storytelling efforts and multimedia content creation. * Provide logistical support for events, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach initiatives. * Stay informed on global issues related to nutrition, food security, and humanitarian aid to ensure messaging is culturally sensitive and globally aware and share information with the team in a concise way. * Support R&D and Nutrition teams with research, data collection, and analysis related to food product development and nutritional impact. * Review grant proposals to Edesia’s Innovation Fund and assist with Fund management. * Coordinate webinars on topics related to Edesia’s work, including research dissemination. * Assist the Quality team in ensuring product safety, compliance, and documentation of food safety standards. * Work with Logistics and Operations teams to support inventory management, shipping coordination, and supply chain optimization. * Perform other administrative and project-based tasks as needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: * Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Nutrition Science, Food Science, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. * Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are important. * Experience with social media platforms and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.). * Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated interest in global health, nutrition, humanitarian aid, or nonprofit development. * Passion for Edesia’s mission and a desire to make meaningful impact.
