JOB SUMMARY

The Global Health and Safety Manager (GHSM) will assist the Global Health and Safety Director in the day-to-day implementation of the health and safety (H&S) program in Teleperformance. This role will span multiple countries and sites within the organization. Reporting to the Global Health and Safety Director, the GHSM will manage the Global Health and Safety team and will coordinate a network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization to ensure Teleperformance is a safe place to work. The GHSM will, with the Global Health and Safety team, contribute to the continuous implementation and improvement of the health and safety management system at a Group level.
The GHSM manages the day-to-day implementation of the Group policies and standards. They will manage the external certification program, and support Country Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to achieve and maintain certification. Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organization, the GHSM will monitor health and safety performance and compliance and assist in the development of safety audits and inspection criteria with the Global Audit Team. Reviewing and assessing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure they remain fit for purpose, the GHSM will also coordinate the development of training and delivery of webinars to support the full implementation of the policies.
The successful candidate will possess effective leadership qualities, including innovation, problem-solving abilities, and resilience. They should be able to motivate teams to achieve objectives while displaying empathy and patience. This position requires strong communication skills and multi-tasking abilities.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, occupational health, or a related field
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in health and safety, occupational health, or a related field

TECHNICAL SKILLS: (KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCES, IT TOOLS/SOFTWARE, LANGUAGES)

  • Professional certification in health and safety, such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health), or NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing health and safety policies and standards
  • Working knowledge of the implementation of International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards across many geographical regions
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety management systems and programs
  • Sound knowledge of the local and international health and safety laws, regulations, and standards

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in a call centre or customer service environment
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong management skills, with the ability to motivate a diverse and geographically dispersed team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

Responsibilities
  • Manage the implementation of the organizational health and safety policies and standards
  • Manage and support the health and safety team, including the Global SME network, and provide them with coaching, training, and feedback
  • Plan and organize the Global Health and Safety team’s tasks and duties while constantly evaluating performance
  • Monitor daily organizational operations, escalating relevant information where necessary,
  • Work with the Global Audit team, to ensure the global health and safety audit program is appropriate to the health and safety framework
  • Manage the implementation of the health and safety incident reporting and investigation process
  • Monitor and analyse health and safety data and identify any trends or high-risk activities across the organization, and prepare and present reports and recommendations to the Global Health and Safety Director
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training and awareness programs and promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization
  • Manage the Corporate ISO 45001 program to ensure compliance and continual improvement across all areas of the organization; ensuring new subsidiaries meet the required standards
