The Global Lead Digital Technology (DT) – Commercial acts as the primary strategic interface between Commercial leadership and the Digital, Data & IT organization. The role ensures that technology investments, digital solutions, data capabilities, and enabling platforms effectively support the global commercial strategy, operating model, and end-to-end processes across sales, marketing, market access, and customer engagement. The role brings strong understanding of commercial biopharma processes and translates growth objectives, customer needs, and compliance requirements into clear digital and technology roadmaps. It serves as a trusted advisor to Commercial leadership and an advocate for the function within Digital, Data & IT, ensuring technology decisions are value-driven, scalable, and compliant with regulatory, privacy, and data governance standards. The Global Lead DT – Commercial shapes demand, orchestrates delivery across product, platform, and vendor teams, and ensures adoption and sustained value realization of digital solutions. Key responsibilities include: Building strong partnerships with global and regional Commercial leaders and co-creating multi-year digital roadmaps aligned with commercial outcomes Leading the Commercial digital value stream with accountability for end-to-end delivery Identifying and prioritizing business needs, managing demand intake, and supporting business case development and budget planning Translating commercial requirements into clear technical requirements for DT engineering, product, and platform teams Ensuring technology and data solutions comply with regulatory, promotional, privacy, and data governance requirements Coordinating with DT architects, product teams, and external partners to deliver solutions on time and within scope Driving change management, training, communication, and stakeholder alignment to ensure successful adoption Tracking realized business value and driving continuous improvement of commercial processes and digital capabilities Acting as the DT escalation point for Commercial functions The role reports into the Global Head of Digital, Data & IT and is based in Boston. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate brings strong experience at the intersection of Commercial functions and Digital or IT within a global biopharma or regulated life sciences organization. They combine deep understanding of commercial processes with the ability to translate business needs into scalable and compliant digital solutions. They act as a trusted partner to senior Commercial leaders and are able to shape demand, influence priorities, and drive alignment across global and regional teams. Key capabilities include: Strong understanding of biopharma commercial processes including sales, marketing, omnichannel engagement, market access, and customer data management Ability to map end-to-end commercial processes and identify opportunities for digital enablement and data-driven optimization Experience delivering digital products, platforms, or projects into live commercial environments Ability to translate business and commercial requirements into clear technology and data requirements Familiarity with core commercial platforms and ecosystems and exposure to data, analytics, AI, cloud, and integration architectures Solid understanding of regulatory, promotional compliance, data privacy, and governance requirements Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery models Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority Clear communicator with strong facilitation, problem-solving, and prioritization skills Outcome-focused mindset with strong ownership and accountability Ability to operate effectively in a global environment with willingness to travel up to 30 percent Education and experience: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences, engineering, computer science, business, or a related field Track record in digital transformation, IT business partnering, product ownership, or consulting within biopharma or another regulated industry Certifications in agile, product, IT service management, or data and digital disciplines are an advantage ‎ For applicants in the United States: The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $224,000.00 - $308,000.00 USD. This range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined using objective, inclusive, and job-related criteria such as relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies and internal equity. This means actual pay may differ from the posted range when justified by these factors. Because market conditions evolve, pay ranges are reviewed regularly and may be adjusted to remain aligned with external benchmarks. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentive programs, subject to the terms and conditions of those plans and applicable policies.
