Position Summary  We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Global Logistics & Customs Specialist to support U.S.–centric import and export operations across the aerospace and defense sector. Serving as a critical compliance gatekeeper, this role ensures the secure, efficient, and fully compliant movement of materials across U.S. and international borders. The specialist will manage end‑to‑end logistics execution, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements, and export controls governed by ITAR and EAR. This position works closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and compliance teams to balance regulatory rigor with high‑velocity logistics needs. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in U.S. Customs procedures, export/import regulations, defense‑related clearances, temporary imports (e.g., ATA Carnet), Dangerous Goods handling, AOG and international freight operations—enabling mission‑critical programs while mitigating regulatory risk. The ideal candidate is a logistics professional with deep knowledge of US Customs procedures and EXIM policies, Special Import/Export and customs procedures, defense‑related clearances, temporary imports (ATA Carnet), AOG, Dangerous Goods and international freight operations. What You’ll Do   * Logistics & AOG Operations: Coordinate global multi-modal shipments (Air, Ocean, Ground, AOG) in compliance with DOT, TSA, and IATA. Optimize Incoterms® to balance cost and speed. Ensure compliant documentation for all shipments, including, Dangerous Goods and specialized cargo. * Regulatory Compliance: Execute U.S. import/export operations under 19 CFR. Manage HTSUS classification, valuation, COO marking, and FTA eligibility (e.g., USMCA). * Export Controls: Act as gatekeeper for ITAR/EAR and OFAC sanctions. Ensure compliance with export licensing (DSP-5, DSP-73, TAAs) and restricted party screening requirements. * ACE & Audit Governance: Submit and review CBP entry summaries (7501) and EEI filings in ACE. Maintain "Reasonable Care" audit-ready files for CBP, DDTC, and BIS. * Special Procedures: Oversee the lifecycle of ATA Carnets, Temporary Importations under Bond (TIB), and duty-saving initiatives (Section 301/232 exclusions, Drawback).   * Master Data & Analytics: Maintain Trade Master Data (ECCN, HTS, USML). Track freight forwarder performance and broker clearance KPIs to drive operational excellence. What You’ll bring  * 5+ years in global logistics and customs specifically within the U.S. aerospace/defense or regulated industry. * Expert knowledge of U.S. customs regulations (19 CFR), CBP processes, ACE portal and multi-modal global logistics * Technical Knowledge: Deep proficiency in ITAR/EAR, OFAC sanctions, license management, HTSUS, and Incoterms® 2020. * Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, negotiation, audit and communication skills; ability to translate complex legal requirements into actionable business processes. * Familiarity with Dangerous Goods (IATA/ICAO, DOT). * ERP/GTM proficiency; advanced Excel skills. * Certifications: LCB (Licensed Customs Broker), CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) or CUSECO (Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer), is highly preferred. * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment. * U.S. work authorization; ability to travel 15–25%.
