Description

An exciting new role in our Purchasing department is now available at the British Ironwork Centre!
Working alongside our Purchasing Manager, we are seeking a purchasing assistant. Working directly with suppliers, this role entails liaising over orders and product sourcing.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in Chinese or Hindi (essential)
  • Experience of working in a purchasing department (desirable)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (essential)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Engaging, enthusiastic and motivated
  • Confident and pleasant demeanour.
  • Well-presented and approachable.
  • Good planning and analytical forecasting skills

Responsibilities
  • Manage purchasing and procurement activities and processes
  • Source and develop new product lines
  • Create accurate forecasts of product demand based on past sales and direction from senior management.
  • Order stock/services/products/materials and manage the logistics of obtaining the stock in a timely manner in line with business requirements
  • Maintaining accurate product inventory levels and system information
  • Managing expenditure in line with budgets set
  • Review product prices (including those of the raw materials) to ensure we are buying as efficiently as possible.
  • Manage supplier relationships effectively via email/telephone and face to face
  • Ensure the purchasing system is kept up to date, stock booked in, ordered correctly and accurate
  • Meet or exceed targets and KPI’s set
  • Being available for correspondence outside of typical working hours due to time zone differences if required.
  • Liaise with different channel managers (online, store, telephone, marketing) and review channel performance in order to maximise purchasing accuracy
