ABOUT THE JOB

The aim is to publish clear, timely, thought-provoking pieces on topics ranging from financial and economic forecasts to in-depth analysis of the economies under coverage and related political developments. As part of the Markets 360 expansion program, we are looking for bright and ambitious people to join our team in Portugal
Your Main Activities Are
Develop and a suite of economic models to be used as key inputs to our view formation process and our research, including forecasting, through:
Reviewing academic research to identify new modelling approaches
Maintaining existing libraries and developing new modules
Running data analytics
Exploring use of new data science techniques
Testing new datasets (i.e. alternative data)
Maintain and update models, including creating visual representations of outputs, compiling of dashboards, presentations and publications
Work collaboratively with other economists in the global economics team
Work on model infrastructure, while being a key input into a robust model validation process.
Collaborate with other team members on thematic research projects, contributing to the written research output
Opportunities to market views to internal and external clients.
Help preparing presentations for client meetings, responses to client requests and ad-hoc data analysis in response to market/macro events.
Contribute to the assembly of economic forecasts
Work independently in thematic projects on key economic topics

PROFILE AND SKILLS TO SUCCESS

Master’s degree in Economics and Econometrics
Between 2 and 5 years of relevant professional experience, economics and/or quantitative related
Good knowledge of Excel
Good written/verbal communication skills in English (mandatory)
Knowledge of Python / Eviews / Mathlab / R
Ability to demonstrate elementary knowledge of financial markets relationships / drivers and statistics, including econometrics
Strong interest in data analysis and solid analytical skills
