About the role
Are you a subject matter expert in radiation and / or chemical safety looking to make a global impact?
At Malvern Panalytical, we’re seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Global Radiation / Chemical Specialist to provide expert leadership and guidance across our international operations. Reporting directly to the Global Health, Safety and Environment Director, you’ll work closely with both regional teams and the wider global HSE function to develop and improve our safety management in this area.
In this influential role, you’ll support the implementation of key initiatives that ensure compliance, enable operational excellence, and align with our broader business objectives. You’ll work hands-on with operational teams at all our global locations, advising on best practices and helping shape a culture of continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be adapting to a wide range of internal customer needs and varied operational environments across our global footprint.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Act as a Global Subject Matter Expert on radiation and chemical safety, providing operational teams with expert guidance and technical support to ensure best-in-class practices.
  • Maintain Licensing & Regulatory Compliance by coordinating with local Radiation Protection Supervisors and Advisors to meet all legal and governmental requirements across regions.
  • Drive Safety Culture & coordination by overseeing local Radiation Protection Supervisors and ensuring safe practices during equipment manufacture, use, and servicing.
  • Deliver the Global HSE Strategy in alignment with business goals, working with regional teams to embed a strong safety and environmental culture.
  • Lead HSE Audits and Standards Compliance, ensuring ISO certifications are upheld where applicable, and robust management systems are in place where they are not.
  • Monitor Performance & Lead Initiatives by managing KPIs, reporting systems, and driving global HSE improvement projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders

About you

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or a related scientific or technical field, providing a strong foundation for expert-level decision-making.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience managing radiation and/or chemical safety within medium to high-risk environments, ideally across multiple sites or regions.
  • Qualified Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance and best practices.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of French or other additional languages are a strong plus in our global setting.
  • A proven ability to influence and elevate safety culture across complex, multisite or international organisations.
