Global Product Manager Director
ABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas&Betts) helps manage the connection, protection and distribution of electrical power from source to socket. The Division’s products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions, helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities, businesses and people around the world. The Commercial Essentials product segment includes electrical junction boxes, commercial fittings, strut and cable tray metal framing systems for commercial and residential construction. The Premier Industrial product segment includes multiple product lines, such as Ty-Rap® cable ties, T&B Liquidtight Systems® protection products, PVC coated and nylon conduit systems, power connection and grounding systems, and cable protection systems of conduits and fittings for harsh and industrial applications. The Division also manufactures solutions for medium-voltage applications used in the utility market under its marquee brands including Elastimold™ reclosers and switchgear, capacitor switches, current limiting fuses, Homac™ distribution connectors, Hi-Tech Valiant™ full-range current limiting fuse for fire mitigation, faulted current indicators and distribution connectors, cable accessories and apparatus with products for overhead and underground distribution. Manufacturing includes made-to-stock and custom-made solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation. You will also support the Product Manager in optimizing the offering portfolio for ABB Helita’s Lightning protection technologies, transforming market requirements into specifications and development activities, ensuring profitability and compliance with standards.
The work model in hybrid. This is a global position with preference for candidates based in Europe particularly in the UK, France, Spain, Italy or Germany. The selected candidate will travel globally, 30-50% of their work time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles
  • Education in electrical engineering or similar areas.
  • Mandatory fluent in English and French (both written and speaking)
  • Ability to work independently and remotely

Responsibilities
  • Understands market and customer requirements as well as global and local standards and certifications in the Early Stream Emissions Earthing and Lightning and grounding systems, conducting analyses of market size, trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Manages technical specifications and supports business cases for product development and cost reduction.
  • Prepares market communication materials and clarifies offering positioning within the portfolio.
  • Provides sales support, participates in customer meetings, and attends trade shows as needed, in collaboration with the factory and the rest of the organization.
  • Develops training materials for internal and external stakeholders in site.
  • Drives technical solutions and maintains the product management cycle for assigned offerings.
  • Proposes new developments to meet customer needs and contributes to marketing tools.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and other internal teams to support new offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
