Department: Global Casting and Raw Parts Process Engineering Perimeter: Sand Core Making Location: Valladolid Geographic scope: Global (Corporate) Reporting Line: Reports to Global Casting and Raw Parts Process Engineering Director Job Purpose Provide technical expertise and innovation in Sand Cores manufacturing processes globally, supporting robust industrialization of new parts and continuous improvement of Horse Plants and Casting Suppliers. Main Responsibilities - Act as global technical referent for Sand Core Making processes within HORSE Technologies. - Define and validate core making processes for new aluminum casting parts. - Support global manufacturing sites and suppliers in achieving QCD targets. - Develop, review and deploy process standards, best practices, and technical specifications. - Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis for core-related defects. - Drive innovation projects in core making technologies (e.g., inorganic binders, automation). - Conduct feasibility (technical and economical) studies for core design and manufacturing. - Collaborate with design engineering to ensure product-process compatibility. - Work actively on Casting Prototype Center to produce samples and define improvements. Required Qualifications - Engineering degree (Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial). - Minimum 10 years of experience in sand core making processes in engineering or manufacturing. - Strong knowledge of core design, tooling, and manufacturing technologies. - Fluent English (mandatory); French is a plus. Desired Skills - Mastery of quality tools: PFMEA, Ishikawa, QC Story, Taguchi, Six Sigma. - Project management and cross-functional coordination. - Knowledge of CAD and simulation tools for core making process and cores design. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills. - Ability to manage technical projects and coordinate with global teams. - Knowledge of sustainability practices in core making.
