Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE - POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:

We’re seeking a Manager, Global Trade Compliance to lead our cross-border compliance strategy and ensure we operate within US and international trade frameworks. This role will directly influence TAG’s expansion plans, cost optimization strategies, and supplier diversification efforts, making it a critical pillar of our supply chain transformation journey.
As the primary subject matter expert on trade compliance, you will develop a deep understanding of TAG’s manufactured products and apply this knowledge to make accurate tariff classification and valuation decisions. You will also support alternative sourcing strategies and drive smarter, risk-managed trade practices.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in high-stakes environments, enjoys working independently, and brings both precision and strategic insight to the team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

  • Act as TAG’s internal authority on global trade regulations (Canada, U.S., and other international jurisdictions)
  • Lead HTS/ECCN classification, customs valuation, and country of origin analysis
  • Advise on tariff strategy, duty drawback, and trade agreement optimization (e.g., CUSMA, CPTPP)
  • Manage customs broker relationships and ensure smooth import/export processes
  • Develop and enforce internal SOPs for trade compliance and regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Executive teams to inform strategic sourcing and mitigate risk
  • Prepare advance rulings, re-determination requests, voluntary disclosures, and regulatory correspondence
