ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding of trade and supply chain products and relevant risks.
  • Knowledge around core products including standby and commercial letters of credit, documentary collections, banker’s acceptances, export-import bank ("EXIM” programs), trade credit insurance/ECA programs; as well as supply chain finance programs such as receivables discounting and payables financing programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of global and domestic markets, competitive landscape, macroeconomic and regulatory dynamics.
  • Strong structuring, credit underwriting, and risk management skills (including understanding of relevant legal and compliance issues).
  • Completion of formal bank credit training program or commensurate credit analysis experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Independent and proactive problem solver, with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • New business development: Work independently and with relationship managers across various lines of business across the bank to originate new prospective trade and supply chain finance clients and related opportunities (e.g. develop prospect lists, attend pipeline meetings, review relationship manager portfolios and existing client lists, utilize portfolio management reporting and other internal data/reporting sources like foreign wire reports to find new business).
  • Deepen existing client relationships and profitability: Maintain ongoing relationship with existing clients. Proactively propose additional trade and supply chain solutions, as applicable. Identify potential cross sell opportunities in Capital Markets or other bank offerings (e.g. other types of credit, deposits) and engage applicable internal partners to pursue.
  • Sales and structuring: Structure client-suitable, appropriately priced/profitable, and market transactions. Develop pitch materials and indicative term sheets. Present strategies to clients.
  • Act as primary liaison between 1LOD credit underwriting and credit administration to manage credit process efficiently (e.g. drive accuracy and timely credit approvals of transactions). Proactively contribute and respond to concept memos and credit approval requests to ensure accurate explanation of proposed structure, risks, and mitigants. Promptly respond to requests/question from credit administrators. Build relationship and trust with credit administration by demonstrating product expertise and experience.
  • Negotiation of legal and other documentation (e.g. credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, receivables purchase agreements, trade documentation, UCCs, etc.): Ensure accuracy, completeness, and market provisions, prioritizing the protection of the bank.
  • Accountability for end-to-end product ownership: Understand all internal touchpoints for all trade and supply chain products, including the technical and operational aspects of transactions. In addition to understanding sales and credit processes, develop understanding other key processes around KYC/onboarding, fundings, internal risk limits (e.g. industry, product, financial institutions, sovereign), portfolio management and risk reporting, appropriate and timely escalations, etc.
  • Proactive risk management culture: Proactively manage all applicable risks (e.g. transactional, operational, credit, counterparty, market, regulatory, compliance), self-identification of process/policy/product gaps and remediation, regular engagement with product managers, business managers, and 1LOD risk partners, etc.
  • Work with product and business management teams to manages to identify new product opportunities, enhancements in technology, etc. Assist in the successful execution of business strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and collaboration with support units such as business management, underwriting, back and middle office operations, credit administration, risk, legal, and compliance.
  • Leadership and corporate behaviors: Reinforce a positive and professional working environment based on collaboration and trust. Focus on training, mentoring, and the development of colleagues.
  • Contribute to GTS business unit and over Capital Markets division financial plans: Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals (formal or informal).
